Make Money Online by Placing Google Adsense Adds Correctly

February 10th, 2009

The proper placement of you Google Adsense adds is key to making money online, from your blog.

There are three main rules to follow in order to place your adds properly, which will maximize your clicks. And this will translate into making more money online.

1 - Match the background of your adds with the background of your website.

This is simple enough, instead of using a yellow background as most people would naturally do, use a more subtle approach. You do not want your add to stick out like a junk yard! The key here, is to try to make the adds appear as if the are not adds at all, but instead links to other sites with related content.

2- Match the ad’s text, with the color of it’s surrounding text.

It does not have to be the exact same color, but do not use bright colors that stand out a lot.

3- Do not place huge adds all around your site.

Try to create a strategic plan for the placement of your adds. Make the adds small but not to small, place the adds in places that make your site look more professional, and do not allow the adds to degrade the quality of your site.

Just think about it for a moment, let’s say you are reading an interesting article on a website, when all of a suddenly you see this giant ugly yellow box with blue links. What would a person like yourself naturally do? They would skip right over it, usually without even reading what is on it. On the other hand, imagine that you are reading an article again, but this time in the middle of the paragraph you come across a small box, that does not dramatically stand out and the add flows as continually as possible with the text in the article.

Out of these two examples which one do you honestly think you are going to click. I know, that there is a much bigger chance for me to read, and possibly click on the add that best blends in with the text; and I believe this is true for most Internet readers. Because this way, people will be more drawn into reading the adds, instead of just being repealed by them, which translates into making more money online.

I believe that if you follow these three simple rules, you will be maximizing your chances of people clicking on your adds and making money online.
